I Have Creepy Dreams...

I don't dream normal.
I'm telling you, I just don't...
I mean, dreams are never very normal, but I really don't dream normal. I can't just have dreams where I'm hanging out with friends. Or doing some every-day thing, or attending some every-day event.

Nope.

I get shot in the face.
Or raped.
Or butchered.
My throat's been blown away.
I've watched a building full of people blow up after I warned them to leave.
I've seen a street full of people and cars washed away.
There's the time I watched an army go door-to-door to massacre an entire town.
Oh, the time a crowd and I were vaporized in a nuclear inferno.
And the dream I drempt twice in one month of Anubis telling Sasha and I that I was going to die - which, mind you, was very real. I had appendicitis at the time and didn't know it yet - which made things that much more creepy...

This isn't a once-in-a-while thing.
This is what my average, typical nite's sleep consitst of.

Last night it was zombies.
Yup.
Zombies.

For some reason, I was riding bareback on a dark-chocolate brown horse, impaling the living dead with a thick, long, sharp branch. And when that broke off in someone's chest, I ran into someone's house (assuming they're deceased as well), and hid. But as everyone knows, you can't hide from zombies. At least not for long. In this case, it was the cat. Yeah, zombie cat... And I stabbed it repeatedly with some sort of wooden skewer.
Come on!
I mean! - it's a kitty for crying out loud!
You'd think dreams would give me a break, but no...

My brain couldn't be so kind as to knock it off, or at least wake myself up -
but at 3:26 a.m. the wind and rain did.

At least Mother Nature was merciful enough to save me from my sleep.

Somewhat reluctantly, I got out of bed - and I say reluctantly because I had this lingering feeling that I was not alone in my apartment, and I didn't feel like facing whatever was outside my bedroom door...

I told myself it was but another horrid dream,
heaved the covers off,
and drifted into my livingroom,
in the dark,
to watch the rain...
